Your hosts - Julie and Darren
Julie and Darren worked in the media industry in the UK and Auckland before travelling around the world and settling back in New Zealand. They came from Bath in Somerset and have been in New Zealand for 20 years, and have an extensive knowledge of the country.
They are now using their experiences from around the globe to create a peaceful haven for visitors to enjoy.
They both have good local knowledge of the native birds, bush walks, artists, beaches and restaurants, and can help you access hidden gems and locations off the beaten track.
Julie and Darren love meeting new people and are happy to share their knowledge of this wonderful country with you. They aim to make your stay as relaxing, or as active, as you need.
The private and peaceful setting of this accommodation – with stunning sea views and bush to explore – is the reason they fell in love with this place.
Owner Julie Dann has some of her paintings in The Cottage and The Treehouse and also has work on show in town. She also screen prints T-shirts with the studio’s logo and other new designs.
Julie’s artwork is on show in the accommodation and is priced and she has more in her studio. Just ask to have a look. They make great keepsakes of your time in NZ and overseas shipping can be arranged.
Prices for paintings range from $100-$300 and all of those in the studio are priced. Prices go up to $770 for the larger pieces which are 5ft wide.
