The studio is on a quiet, no-exit road within walking distance of a beach for fishing and swimming, and a wetland for native birds where New Zealand dotterels and shorebirds nest.
The one-bedroom cottage boasts a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with queen-size bed, a spacious lounge with a pull-out sofa bed, and a bathroom with laundry. Outside, guests can enjoy a private deck and barbecue area. Optimum occupancy for the studio is for three adults.
There are kiwi active at night on the property, which has an acre of bush, along with plenty of ruru (morepork/owl). During the day we have tui, kereru (wood pigeon), a big flock of California quail, shining cuckoo and many native birds visiting.
Prices range from $160 to $190 per night for the studio, for up to three people, depending on what time of year you are visiting.
